Why are Medium Consistency Refiners Used:

  • Blow Line—Completion of Chip Breakdown
  • Deshive—Shive Removal
  • Sack Kraft–Introduction of Curls and Kinks in the Fibers

HIGH CONSISTENCY REFINERS [HiCo]

  • > 20% with maximum being about 55%
  • High Speed/Larger Motors
    1200 – 2400 RPM/1000 kW – 40 mW

    Fiber Board Production

  • Chip Breakdown/Pulp Manufacturing
